Human Performance Minor
Exercise and physical activity are considered one of the key components to addressing the public health care problems of the 21st century.
If you are interested in exercise and physical activity and would like to incorporate it into your future profession, the human performance minor will allow you to improve your knowledge of exercise and your skills in leading exercise programs or teaching others how to improve their skills. Depending on your interests and major, two options are available to you:
- Pedagogy: This option allows you to develop your skills to teach and lead individual and group exercise classes. This option is not open to physical education majors.
- Fitness and Training: This option provides you with basic scientific knowledge about fitness and training for diverse populations. This option is not open to exercise science majors. The minor is especially suited for students planning to pursue careers in allied health, personal fitness and wellness and nursing.
