Approachable professors, outdoor activities, friendly campus and people and diversity.
Words of Advice:
As BSU offers lots of activities for students to be engaged in, try to use the most out of what interests you.

Minor/s: Psychology; Health Education and Promotion
Why BSU?
My brother studied here before me and said that he really liked Bemidji. Also, the tuition is affordable given the quality of education. I also like the friendly environment and beautiful landscape/outdoors.
Favorite thing/s about BSU:
Living near Lake Bemidji and the friendly hospitality from the International Program Center (IPC) staff and the locals. Receiving good advice and support from my advisor.
Words of Advice:
Try new things that you haven’t tried. For example, go try ice fishing during winter if you have never experienced it before. Be open-minded, and don’t be afraid to meet new people/make friends.

Major: Computer Science
Why BSU?
It was a perfect fit for me because Bemidji is peaceful and not too crowded, which makes it easier to adjust to a completely new environment. The tuition is affordable because I am paying the in-state tuition fees, which would be much higher at other universities (where I would be paying the out-of-state tuition fees). BSU has a good Computer Science program, which I was looking for, and also great programs which focus on development from introductory courses to advanced courses.
Favorite thing/s about BSU:
People are polite and friendly, and students will not feel awkward or uncomfortable asking or dealing with any questions. To stay warm in winter, we can take the tunnels from our dorm straight to our classes. Students can get involved in lots of activities at the Rec Center which helps them make new friends.
Words of Advice:
Don’t hesitate to interact with your professors because they are always willing to help you. Also, you will be able to try new foods and experience a variety of cultures while studying at BSU.

Country of Citizenship: Lithuania (exchange student from Finland)
Major: Business Administration
Minor/s: Marketing/Communications
Why BSU?
I wanted to live in the US and my university had an exchange program with BSU, so it provided a good opportunity to experience that.
Favorite thing/s about BSU:
I enjoy my courses and my teachers, and people in general are nice. I’m happy that it isn’t too difficult to study here, I was especially concerned about understanding the Minnesotan accent, but teachers are nice and provide advice on how to do everything more easily.
Words of Advice:
It’s a great place to study because the environment is perfect for studying. While there are activities, there are not a lot of distractions. Everyone is into healthy living and sports.
