Biography

Lisa has enjoyed working at Bemidji State University as a professor in the PEDL program (Professional Education Distributed Learning) for the past 14 years. Lisa has had several roles throughout the years with the PEDL program: advisor, coordinator, and instructor for the Professional Education Department. She has taught the following courses: ED 3100, ED 3110, ED 3350 ED 3870 and ED 47/5799 ED 5000. In her current role with the PEDL program she teaches ED 3100 Foundations to American Education and ED 4799/5799 Professional Teacher. These classes “bookend” the PEDL program course rotations, which allows her to support students throughout their journey to become a teacher. She is the clinical/mentor coordinator for the PEDL program. This role allows her to collaborate closely with cooperating teachers, mentors, and university supervisors to ensure students have excellent field work experiences. Prior to BSU, Lisa was an adjunct professor for the University of North Dakota and an elementary teacher in Farmington, MN. She earned her master’s degree at University of St. Mary’s, and she is an alum of St. Cloud State University. Lisa has been married for 25 years to Kurt and they have three adult children.
